legacy 16-bit NYC software:
Unregistered users:
Download any version above, install it, and try it for 60
days (free!). If you like it, register it. Please note that 60
days after your fifth use, the downloaded NYC will deactivate unless you have
entered a valid registration code into it using Help… Register… Reg Code button. You won’t lose any recipes you have
entered when this happens, but you won’t be able to access them until you
register.
Registered
users of NYC:
Download from the links above.
Turn off all other programs, install in the NYC default
directory, start the program, then use File... Upgrade... to
bring over your user files (including your registration info and cookbooks)
from your previous NYC directory. You can optionally
enter your registration info into each new version using Help... Register... Reg Code button.
See the NYC FAQ for more details on installing and troubleshooting installation.
Special note
for McAfee VirusScan users:
NYC (16-bit) and NYC Lite (16-bit) will
not operate simultaneously with McAfee VirusScan
v4.00 enabled. You should obtain McAfee's latest release (v4.01 or
higher) to correct this problem. If you do not want to upgrade VirusScan, you must disable it to run NYC. Please note that v4.00 of VirusScan
has this problem with many programs, not just NYC,
so you should seriously consider getting a later release of McAfee (v4.01 or
higher).
External
applications to complement NYC operation:
To tell NYC where
utility programs are located on your PC's hard drive, use Tools... Options...
Preferences....
