How to Reuse Menus In a Different Menu Period

Some NYC users keep a weekly or monthly menu that they want to reuse and are concerned that they have to create a new menu for this to get the dates correct.  This is not the case – NYC provides an easy way to reuse a menu in a different menu period.

Reusing a multi-day menu in a different menu period

Select Meal...Plan... from the main menu, then use the calendar button to adjust the starting date to the date you want, then press OK.  The new starting date should be after the ending date in the original menu.  When prompted with “Start date is later than end date.  Are you sure you want to make the change?”, respond with Yes.  NYC will adjust both the start and end date to the new period, with your sequence of menu day entries preserved.   When you scroll through the days of the menu period, you will see that the same menu as before, but it will now show the new menu period.

If your new start date is between your original start date and original end date, NYC will assume you are just tweaking your existing menu, so it will shorten your menu such that the new start date and the original end date apply.  NYC will only move the entire menu to a new period if your new start date is after the original end date.

Extending an existing meal plan by a few days without having to start a new one

Select Meal...Plan... from the main menu, then use the calendar button to adjust the ending date to the date you want, then press OK. When you scroll through the days of the menu period, you will see that the additional days you wanted are there, so you can add dishes to the meals on those days to complete your extended meal plan.
