One Cookbook vs Multiple Cookbooks
Q:
What are the advantages/disadvantages of using one cookbook versus
multiple cookbooks?
A:
Even though NYC cookbooks can theoretically hold 32,000 recipes each,
we suggest multiple cookbooks if you plan to have more than 5,000 to 10,000
recipes. Smaller cookbooks result in better NYC performance (faster
operation and lower memory use).
Also, multiple cookbooks give you another layer of categorization hierarchy, which you need with that many recipes.
With NYC's capabilities across cookbooks (recipe search, dupe kill,
menu planning, recipe printing), there is really no reason to keep all
recipes in one cookbook.
