How to Auto-Link Recipe Ingredients to Nutrition Items

After creating or importing a recipe, its ingredients must be linked to nutrition items before you can do a Nutritional Analysis on the recipe.  The quickest way to link ingredients to nutrition items is to open the recipe and use Nutrition… Get Links From Droplist… .  Fort this to work, your recipe ingredients must have been pre-linked to nutrition items in the Ingredients Droplist.

To pre-link ingredients in the Ingredient Droplist to nutrition items, use Recipes… Droplists > Ingredients to open the droplist.  Then add a new ingredient and dbl-click it or dbl-click an existing ingredient.  Dbl-click a nutrition item to pre-link the ingredient to that nutrition item.

In the Ingredient Droplist, you can pre-link recipe ingredients to regular nutrition items AND user-defined nutrition items.  For example, dbl-click your recipe ingredient "fudge" and link it to a user-defined nutrition item "#2-minute fudge".  Then when you use “fudge” as a recipe ingredient, it will already be linked to “#2-minute fudge” in the nutrition database.
